Unfortunately, a large population of kids are denied the right to go to school and to help them, Kind Beings, initiated their first project EDUSHALA, in December 2018 at Bank Enclave, Laxmi Nagar, New Delhi.
This was launched with the aim of making sure that no child is excluded from the right of being educated. The success of this project was marked on Day 1 itself when more than 30 students applied and showed enthusiasm and will to learn from the very start, and today, Edushala has established a strong ground for itself in over 30 districts. This journey from 30 students to 30 districts is filled with enormous hard-work and patience our volunteers.
The volunteers work towards providing academic education of all subjects including English, Hindi, Maths, Science and Social Science, skill enhancement courses, such as computer operations and teach other basic life skills, including Hygiene, Gender Equality, Culture, Work Ethics etc to children in the slums who do not have access to education resources. Classes are conducted regularly and include fun games and lessons to keep children interested.
To help us with our venture, Professors of Ramanujan College of Delhi University, hold classes for students of 10th, 11th and 12th class and also conduct Computer Operations classes under Edushala’s sub-project Aangan. Various Workshops are conducted for both students and parents to help them understand the importance of education how it opens up a sea of opportunities before them, while also making parents realize the physical, mental and social exploitation that happens due to common malpractices like child labour and child marriages. The project focuses on enhancing the personality of all their students and make them realize their potential, abilities and worth giving them the chance to build a bright future and be good citizens of our nation.
